The grammar points are clear, the vocabulary is slowly built upon, and there is a beginning guide to correctly pronouncing words from the pinyin. The audio is also clearly recorded and clearly enunciated (though some of the track placements are slightly o|About the Author|| Elizabeth Scurfield was until recently Chair of Modern Languages at the University of Westminster, where she was a founder member of the Chinese section. She has more than 30 years' experience of teaching Chinese to beginners.
